This creature made it out of the workshop today ! There is the saliva effect and hair to be added yet. It is a poly foamed display head with a latex lining airbrushed up for some realism .... the other creature in back made it by mistake.

Alley Fight Scene

A film called Supremacy ( I think ) required some splatter fx studio work. Always a fun experience watching filming from behind the scenes. Thanks guys. This head split was the result of Richard's head hitting the ground after being king hit unexpectedly. These pictures of the wound are before blood was applied just before the scene.

Cutsnake media

Jamie and Abe from cutsnake media approached me to design a logo for them. Their request was "The general idea is; A snake, reared up to strike or striking at viewer, wrapped around a bloody meat clever. The snakes body around the handle of the clever actually morphs into film, as in a celluloid roll of film, and flattens out at the bottom. The concept being we are cutting up film."
Design work can sometimes be hard . Need the right idea .. After a few sketches I decided on this one ... See what they think hugh?

DREAM

Short film director Rowan ( center group photo ) has send me some images of the car crash victims I did last yearfor his film "Dream". This make up was the first one after the week long " Back to the Dead" shoot. Again, turned up with my splatter box of tricks without knowing the task at hand. Pulled it off again !! With a few bad jokes and splatter or two, I was done. Thanks guys !!

Vamprik

Rik from Mindseye asked me for some help with a costume. So I sourced him some eye contacts, made him some dentures, and created a subtle pale make up to bring out the cheek bones etc. Another happy customer.

Airbrush Art

During the journey through my new art path, I deciced to take a course in airbrushing. These images are the first attempts after completion of two courses. This also now gives me some skill in the assistance of make up application. At least I can look back at these images to see where I started from.

Back to the dead

Back to the dead was written and directed by Daniel Vink. This was the first short film I had done since " The man who was no one" Through a friend of a friend of a friend, Daniel found me and I was working with his team within days. Thrown in to the deep end with time and budget, we managed to create some pretty gruesome zombies and the like....Connections were now made and the guys from MAPS gave me plenty more opportunities to display some SFX make up !
